The Fish Market – 48” by 36” - For this unique ‘piscatorial cuisine’ oil painting, Richard collected all the colorful diversity of fish species for sale in the small French Mediterranean town of Cassis and put them on ice permanently. The fish look as real and fresh as the day they were caught.
Oceanside Tracks – 48” by 36” The tracks in the sand of the 4 wheel drive traffic during the bluefish and striper runs are a familiar sight to National Seashore surf fishermen. Richard caught the deep shadows of the setting sun in this unique pattern just north of the inlet at Hatteras.

Fish dreams – 42” by 36” This subtly colored surrealistic drawing of the reveries of Richard’s young daughter dreaming she was sleeping in an ocean aquarium well represents the unbounded imagination of a young child getting her head around 600 lb Groupers and the colorful fish that populate our sub tropical ocean waters.
The Pier – 48” by 36” This painting depicts the sun glistening on the sand and the small waves breaking through the pilings of a fishing pier. This one happened to be at Hatteras but it is a universal sight along the mid-Atlantic seaboard.

Nothing captures the feeling of sitting beachfront like the smell of the salt-tinged air as it whips down the coastline. Gusts of wind are central to a beach's identity. They cool beach dwellers, provide gulls and pelicans a slipstream highway, and topple waves over into the shoreline. A deck is one of the best places to enjoy the breeze while appreciating the company of friends and family.
